Rechargeable hearing aids: FAQ

They are a lot like ships that come to dock at night. You don't change the batteries, but "dock" your aids to recharge them usually in 4 hours. There's no more fiddling with tiny little disposable (and environmentally unfriendly) batteries.
Love your trees, love your rechargeable hearing aids. The batteries only need replacing usually after a year's usage. You recharge them every night in their own "dock" – an earbud pocket charger – or by using a wireless Qi charger pad with some models. They are also good if you have dexterity issues such as Parkinson's Disease or arthritis: rechargeables are easy to handle and there is no need to get out your magnifying glass to change those disposable batteries.
Up to 4-7 days using the rechargeable mobile dock, and a full day to 36 hours per charge depending on the model and how much you use them as a streaming device for music, books, and for taking phone calls.
If you're ready for a rechargeable hearing aid device, switching is more complicated than simply going to the drugstore and purchasing rechargeable button batteries in the correct size. These don't exist. You need a model that has built-in rechargeable batteries.
Signia has won prizes for having the longest battery life (up to 61 hours, an independent study revealed) while Widex is also well-known in the field for being a reliable rechargeable device.
